DES-09 is a powerful liquid solvent mixture of 1 mole choline chloride : 2 moles ethylene glycol (MEG) and has very low freezing point. DES-09 is a versatile solvent used in metal finishing and novel uses including nano-technology.

Deep Eutectic Solvents are mixtures of lewis or brønsted acids with bases and are commonly mixtures of hydrogen bond donors and quaternary ammonium salts.
As there is no intention to form new substances for supply they are mixtures.
Annex V of Reach also allows exemption for unintentional in-situ reactions.
